Daniel Bustamante - CIO & Founder
Daniel Bustamante is the Founder & Chief Investment officer of Bustamante Capital Management. Before starting the firm, Mr. Bustamante began his career with Charles Schwab & Co. at the age of twenty before moving into proprietary trading as an index and energy trader. He was the head of US Equities trading for a long/short hedge fund at the age of twenty-nine before leaving to found a Fintech startup. In 2018 he had his first exit in a Fintech company and began investing in and turning around private companies. He helped to turn around a well known golf brand as interim CEO in 2020 before launching his first private investment partnership.
More recently, he was one of the first on Wall Street to call for Carvana to trade to $0 in early 2022 citing accounting irregularities and other material items which were covered by Forbes and other media outlets. Subsequently, the stock fell over -90% in the following two quarters before a key restructuring.
He is often featured in Fox Business, Reuters, Bloomberg and Forbes.
Samuel Evans - COO
Sam Evans joined Bustamante & Co. In October 2023 as the Chief Operating Officer, occupying a variety of front office roles such as administration and client relations. Prior to Bustamante & Co. , Mr. Evans spent two decades in the futures and commodities space within various roles. Mr. Evans began his career as a trade floor consultant and trainer for Ray White Futures in London, UK before moving to a position as Co-Head of Trading for Bull Bear Investments in Oslo, Norway.
A native of East London, Mr. Evans graduated from the University of Central Lancaster and the Forest School in London, UK.
